Rebranding a Community Staple of Over 30 Years

Epicuria is an Ottawa food shop and catering company located in Ottawa. As a company founded by chefs, they’re known for their gourmet meals, artisanal grocery items and upscale corporate catering services. We worked with them to develop a new brand identity and marketing strategy.

The Challenge

Epicuria is a well-established catering company that has been providing high-quality food and service in the Ottawa area for over 30 years. With three decades in business, the company wanted a brand that reflected their success and paid homage to their original roots. We worked with Epicuria on a new visual identity for the brand.

Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic had wide effects on the food and beverage industry as well as the events industry. However, it opened up many opportunities for online sales – which led us to working on an e-commerce website for Epicuria as well as a newly improved digital marketing strategy. 

The Solution

We worked with Epicuria to create a new brand identity that was a better fit for their new business direction. They wanted to return to their original logo from the 90s, so we drew inspiration from the original word mark and updated their branding with a modern twist. The result was a clean, modern new look.

We also worked with the brand to design and develop a Shopify site where customers could place online retail orders. This offered new opportunities for online revenue generation throughout the pandemic. This new website generated new traffic for the brand, increasing organic search traffic by 13%.

The final piece of the puzzle was developing a marketing strategy to drive awareness and interest using a multi-channel approach that combined social media marketing and email marketing.

The result? An Instagram reach increase of 28.2% YOY, a Facebook page visits increase of 38.3% YOY, and an average email open rate of over 50%.
